Typically the brand of choice for young skaters and those obsessed with street wear, the Spring 2010 collection of Bathing Ape is surprisingly more grown up than it’s ever been. The collection has a lot more muted patterns and color schemes and as a company who made its fashion mark with its ultra colorful printed hoodies and cartoon emblazoned tees, this new collection is sure to cause a divide amongst its consumers. (Think young men who groan at the idea of having to dress like grown ups.) But alas, this new collection finally makes it possible for a larger male audience to become a part of the Bape culture without feeling juvenile. Kanye is the perfect poster boy, straddling the line between street and GQ.
