Re-Boot | Samuel Hubbard
There’s a new boot in town. And it’s not only made for walking; it’s made for stepping out in style. As with all shoes made by Samuel Hubbard, including the Hubbard Free, aka “The Un-Sneaker”, the Re-Boot is remarkably light and ridiculously comfortable. Shoemakers since 1930, first with The Hubbard Shoe Company, then The Rockport Company in 1971 and now Samuel Hubbard Shoe Company since 2014, Samuel Hubbard showcases three generations of a family-owned business designed around function, comfort engineering and craftsmanship.
The Re-Boot is essentially the 2.0 version of theHubbard Boot-Up. While the Boot-Up is part of Samuel Hubbard’s casual line, the Re-Boot is a sleeker, swankier take the classic dessert or chukka boot. Dressed up in either espresso brown, lightly pebbled leather or mahogany suede, all Re-Boots feature buttery soft, full glove leather lining that eliminates pressure points, a lightweight Kevlar® shank that provides sturdy arch support and a padded tongue. Inside and out, this boot’s got “sole” with a triple-density memory foam insole, featuring superior-comfort Poron® beneath a layer of silky smooth leather, and a custom Vibram® outsole that puts a spring in your step while offering all-day support. Standing the test of time, in supreme comfort, is what Samuel Hubbard stands for, so those cushy insoles—that are breathable and antimicrobial to boot—can be easily removed if you wish to use your own orthotics. Better still, all Hubbard shoes are resoleable for years of comfort through their Resole Patrol Program.
And when it rains, the downpour doesn’t have to rain on your parade—or cramp your style. Hubbard also makes an all-black Rainy Day Re-Boot with all the features listed above plus a breathable, waterproof GORE-TEX® membrane that ensures your feet keep dry through any kind of weather.
The Re-Boot sells for $245, while the Rainy Day Re-Boot is $285. Both Re-Boots pair well with khakis, jeans, chinos or corduroys for a dress-casual, Fall/Winter look that feels unbelievably like a sneaker whether at work or play.
