It’s always important to have timeless pieces in your wardrobe, and this is something we’re going to be highlighting over the next few weeks. A timeless piece is basically a style of clothing or accessory which isn’t going to go out of trend. It’s something which can be utilized into many looks, and it’s something you can always wear whatever the occasion. Today we’re going to be highlighting outerwear, something perfect for the AW season, and that is the Trench Coat.

A trench coat is a raincoat made of waterproof heavy-duty cotton drill or poplin, wool gabardine, or leather. It generally has a removable insulated lining; and it is usually knee-length. Invention of the trench coat is claimed by both Burberry and Aquascutum, and they’ve been around since the first world war, with British and French soldiers wearing them. They can be used to smarten up a look, or even add a touch of vintage. Layered over a sweater and shirt, keeping the trench coat loosely draping with buttons undone, can add another layer which compliments your attire. Perfect for all occasions such as work, going out, or even casual events down a local bar. You cant really go wrong with a Trench, and here’s some images of guys wearing them smartly.
