Oakley Elite Full Metal Jacket WatchAdded on August 3, 2011 Written by Robert Moses
Oakley has for quite some time now, been a long standing leader in top notch eyewear, Oakley sunglasses, claiming patents on most of the things that optical technology has to offer. They have managed to transfer this level of expertise into watch making. So here is the Oakley Elite Full Metal Jacket watch.
So the watch has a machine impact forged titanium case and bracelet that are pretty impressive. It also has the ability to use a release lever on the left flank of the case to remove the watch so it can be used in the included pocket watch case. However, we feel that this does not justify a nine thousand dollar price tag.
In the case of Oakley’s Elite Full Metal Jacket, the company managed to source a very reliable caliber. The ETA/Valjoux 7750 self-winding chronograph. This caliber is quite popular amongst most watches, but in this particular model, it is a problem. It is a mediocre piece of technology that does not need to be included in any luxury watches and most critics attach little or no value to it. It seems quite worthless packing in this sort of stuff into a watch that costs nine thousand dollars that would have otherwise commanded higher technology.
In our opinion, we feel that paying nine thousand dollars for this phone is simply a waste of money. Save that money and buy yourself a watch that seriously commands respect with its craftsmanship like Rolex, Breitling, Omega, etc.
