Antonio Azzuolo Spring/Summer 2011
Prior to launching a. a., Antonio Azzuolo served as design director for Ralph Lauren Purple and Black Label, where he dedicated his time to concept and design. Earlier, Azzuolo worked for over ten years at high-end New York and Parisian design institutions such as Hermès and Kenzo.
Having worked in such diverse environment within the fashion industry, Azzuolo brings to his a. a. line a cultivated design and luxury goods aesthetic as well as a market-driven methodology of work.
Spring/Summer 2011, Antonio Azzuolo shows us suspenders, bowler hats, and skinny trousers that immediately bring to mind an early time in life when men actually dressed this way all the time. Now however, men will see this line and pick out parts of it to fit in with their trendy sense of dressing up. We like the blazers; the jackets, the two tone pants and shorts where one leg is one color and the other a different one; the bright touch of color in the line; the shoes and accessories worn during the presentation. However, the really short shorts with long socks may still take a while for men to get use to, so don’t expect to see much of that on the streets next year.
Take at the entire line on the next page and what goes on behind the scenes as Pinstripe Magazine was there to capture it all.
