On February 16th Pinstripe Magazine sent off New York Fashion Week with a BANG! Not even the rain could stop fashionistas and celebrities from partying. If you missed this event, make sure to attend the second annual Spring Fling in April 2012.

Pinstripe teamed up with The Orphaned Starfish Foundation to bring you New York Fashion Week Twilight Finale, a fashion show concert event featuring designs by One.10 Collection and performances by The Broadway Dolls and KDrew. Special guest appearances included actor Kevin Navayne, singer Nadia Kay and Misfit Dior, Miss Teen USA 2011 Danielle Doty, model Jay Horton, Tarik Lowe star and writer of “Supporting Characters”, TV personality Las Gemelas Lulu y Lala and actor, singer Latin American Idol Ronny Mercedes.

Nickel Spa NYC was turned turned into a Fashion Runway venue and sponsors such as Red Newt, Bold Organics, Blat Vodka, BlackLapel, Copper Mike and Iluminada Studio showed up to be part of New York Fashion Week Twilight Finale.

Marv Valladares, Editor-in-Chief said “Every year we want to make sure designers designing any type of menswear Ready To Wear get the most exposure we can offer during Fashion Week. This year we decided to have a charitable event, and chose to work with The Orphaned Starfish Foundation for their dedication of creating lasting change in the lives of orphans throughout Latin America. Of course myself being Latino, I am always here to lend a hand to those in need.”

Thank you to all who supported, attended and still keep telling us how this was the Fashion Week party of the year. We also want to give thanks to all of those who helped raise funds to benefit The Orphaned Starfish Foundation. We look forward to doing it all over again next year. One.10 Collection at New York Fashion Week Twilight Finale

Danelle I. Dungca left an impression with her One.10 Collection Fall 2012 at the New York Fashion Week Twilight Finale event held by Pinstripe Magazine. Faux feathers, black and gold seemed to dominate the runway at Nickel Spa NYC. The menswear line looked very versatile and unisex. Our favorite men’s piece was the black knit hooded sweater with feathered mini skirt over leggings. Yes we did say mini skirt. Black capris pants were worn over tights and men’s suits appeared to have a very Middle Eastern Royalty feel and look to them ready to be worn by any Prince.

The women’s line was all about sheer, more features and lace. Every outfit was touched with elegance and class. See the rest of One.10 Collection Fall 2012 below.

Men’s grooming today is not the same as what your father use to know. They also offer hot towel treatments, waxes, manicures and pedicures and yes guys… I received a manicure and pedicure and I must say I loved it and would definitely do it again!

I sipped on some whiskey and watched TV while getting groomed.. They will always make sure your services are completed in a timely fashion. I know for myself I didn’t want to leave.

We had a chance to sit down with Managing Partner-Stylist Danny Kerr and asked him a few questions about SPIFF and how he got started.

When did you start cutting hair?
Danny: I started cutting hair in 1989. I graduated from College in 1985, I thought I would be a psychiatrist but I didn’t feel like going back to school. At the time, my girlfriend was going to beauty school and asked if I would like to give the beauty industry a shot. So, I gave it a shot, and I never looked back.

How do you perfect your skills?
Danny: I was fortunate that the school I went to was rated one of the best barber schools in the nation. I had a jump start of other people coming out of school. The first eight months out of school, I worked on a military base. This helped me learn precision and quick cutting. We used to bang out an average of 55 haircuts a day. I’d get home, and couldn’t raise my arms from being so sore. I was later offered a job by a celebrity barber, Jerry Mayfield to work in his shop. He said he liked my style and wanted to go ahead and assist me with further training. I’ve also picked up techniques and perfected skills by working under several well-known stylists in California and in New York.

What were you doing before SPIFF?
Danny: I used to own a salon in La Jola, California and Anchorage, Alaska. Sold them in 2000. I was bouncing around the east coast and at the advice of a family friend, I decided to move to New York. I took a job offer with the salon, John Allans where I rapidly moved up to Creative Director of the Saks location.

When and how did SPIFF come to exist?
Danny: Me being my impulsive self, decided that I no longer wanted to work at John Allans and left without a back up job. I had the idea to open up another salon. All I needed was someone to help me open it. I met Greg Sarway through a mutual friend who I heard wanted to put up a men’s grooming salon. I contacted him and we created SPIFF.

What makes you different from any other male spa/salon?
Danny: In most men’s spas, they concentrate on spa services, and a haircut is just another service that is thrown in a corner. Here at SPIFF, however, we understand that men get their haircut more often which allows us to expose more men to spa services. Our focus is cutting hair and introducing men to other spa services. We’re about a grooming experience.

Have you provided service to anyone famous?
Danny: We’ve done numerous athletes and some celebrities here at SPIFF.

How would you describe SPIFF?
Danny: Here at SPIFF, we pride ourselves on being a full men’s grooming experience. We like to give the perfect cut, nails, and shoes, to maintain that perfect look.

What can our male readers expect from SPIFF?
Danny: Quality, convenience, consistency.

Meet Brazilian lingerie model, Jeisa Chiminazzo now residing in New York. This shoot is for La Perla Lingerie. Where you have seen her before? She appeared in the 2006 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and she also appeared in the 2008 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

Born on April 12, 1985 in Muçum, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil – Jeisa grew up in a multi-ethnic country where she is no exception, being raised by parents (Ernani and Ivone) with Italian and German blood. She has two sisters, Grace (6 years older) and Jessica (5 years younger).

Jeisa was discovered in 1998, at the age of 13, by a Brazilian actor. She quickly graced the covers of Brazilian magazines and in 1999 she appeared in the Italian editions of Elle and Marie Claire. The year 2000 brought many fashion campaigns, both Brazilian and international, for the Brazilian teen and she could be seen in campaigns such as Emanuel Ungaro. Enjoy the pictures below.

Our boy Victor Cruz from Paterson, NJ dances Salsa at the Grammys. Seems like the perks of winning a Super Bowl championship include Disney World fame, a ticker tape in Gotham and tickets to the Grammy Awards. New York Giants wide receivers Mario Manningham and Victor Cruz were inexplicably given seats behind the lady of the night, Adele. They also presented an award with Pauley Perette of NCIS. We think this was the highlight of the Grammys, Victor Cruz dancing salsa.

For Fall/Winter 2012, Y-3 treks through the steppes of Central Asia, blending tradition and modernity for a fusion of styles and shapes inspired by nomadic culture. Shown in New York’s Soho district on Sunday, February 12, 2012, as part of New York fashion week, Y-3’s collection took its audience on a wild and rugged journey from the future to the past, all in the essence of Yohji Yamamoto, the label’s designer. Y-3 explored the ways in which ancient nomadic tribes combine elements of traditional, ethnic dress with contemporary sport clothing—a look no doubt influenced by the presence of Western wanderers visiting the region. The result was an inspired take on winterwear, combining the futuristic sport style of adidas with a romantic vision: long, dramatic wool coats, sumptuous shearling jackets, nubby fleece knits, and fierce leopard prints. Models walked the runway to music from the Black Keys, Little Barrie, and the Derek Trucks Band while a front-row crowd of Idris Elba, Isabel Lucas, Anton Yelchin, Clemens Schick, Martina Codecasa, and Mary Charteris looked on.
